Officers of the Russian FSB for the Krasnodar Krai, together with the police and a special unit of the Rosgvardia, detained a 27-year-old resident of Temryuk.
The man is suspected of holding a high-ranking position in the criminal hierarchy, being a so-called «polozhenets.» An acquaintance of his was also detained on suspicion of extortion. Criminal cases have been initiated against the suspects.
According to investigators, the man held the highest position in the criminal hierarchy since April 2023. Individuals with lower criminal status followed his orders and directives. The man adhered to criminal ideology, propagated and preserved criminal traditions and customs of the underworld, and held unquestionable authority. His influence extended across the Temryuk district.
In January of this year, a local woman, aware of his status in the criminal world, approached him. She offered monetary compensation in exchange for help in taking a car from her husband. The «polozhenets» agreed and involved his 46-year-old acquaintance in the scheme. The acquaintance was a follower of the ideological norms and principles of the criminal subculture.
The perpetrators met with the car owner on January 23 at a local café. Threatening severe bodily harm and property damage, they demanded that the man either hand over the car to his wife or pay her its value—710,000 rubles.
The suspects were detained. Searches were conducted in their homes, during which items relevant to the criminal case were seized. The suspects remain in custody.
