Depok City Council Chairman Ade Supriyatna held the Third Session Period Recess for 2025 in the Pertamina Housing Complex area, Harjamukti Village, Cimanggis District, on Friday. During the event, he directly listened to various complaints and hopes from residents of Curug and Harjamukti Villages.

He believes that waste management starting from households can be a concrete step in reducing the city’s burden, allowing the government to focus on other strategic issues like education and health.

The politician, who is also a Depok community figure, stressed that environmental problem handling must be comprehensive.
“It can’t be done halfway. Drainage must be connected from upstream to downstream. Highland areas should be utilized for water absorption zones,” he stated firmly.

He also reminded the public to be more disciplined in maintaining environmental cleanliness, including not constructing buildings over water channels that could potentially worsen flooding.

Furthermore, Ade stated that the recess activity isn’t just a forum for gathering public aspirations, but also a momentum for growing collective awareness in finding independent and efficient solutions.

Meanwhile, regarding waste handling, he conveyed that Depok City Government is currently still waiting for the realization of the waste-to-energy processing project from the central government. While waiting for that program to be realized, Ade encouraged the public to start sorting waste from their homes as a concrete step toward improving environmental conditions.
