“North Safari Sapporo” will close at 5:00 PM soon.

What is the situation on the final day?

Cars from outside the region can be seen in the parking lot, with people saying they came from Tokyo and Chiba.

Many vehicles arrived at once when the park opened at 10:00 AM.

Earlier, I met a family with a mother and her two children.

The daughter is now a university student, and the park opened around the time she was born. The mother said, “It’s sad because we have memories together with my children’s growth.”

The son is currently studying to become a veterinarian.

I felt that North Safari Sapporo was also a place that nurtured family memories and a boy’s dreams.

However, it was also 20 years during which various problems were left unresolved.

There are still over 300 animals, including lions, and some animals have not yet found new homes.

Inside the facility, a message board was set up, with strong messages from visitors to the zoo such as, “Please make sure all the animals can be happy. I believe in you.”

I spoke with more than ten groups of people, and everyone was concerned about the animals’ future.

Although today marks the end of 20 years of history, people cannot simply enjoy themselves or reminisce about memories. Those who have memories with this zoo and love it seem to be more focused on the animals’ future.

North Safari Sapporo is scheduled to close at 5:00 PM.
